Your FAQs

Q.Do I need to book a place?

You need to let us know you are coming along beforehand so we allocate enough places in the group and be compliant with Covid-19 guidance.  You can email angela@dreamarts.org.uk or call 07951921247

Q.How much does it cost?

£3 per day. The first session is free of charge for new members, so come along and try it out! Discounts are available for siblings. Concessions and bursary places are also available on a case to case basis – please get in touch.

Q.What should I wear?

You don’t need any specialist clothing.

Q.Do I need to be a certain age to attend?

The minimum age for Juniors to join is 6 years old. The minimum age for the Performance Company is 13 yrs and the maximum 19 yrs (or 25yrs for young people with special educational needs).

Q.Do I need to live in a certain area to attend?

We are a Westminster-based charity and therefore we prioritise Westminster residents and users. However, if you are not based in the borough and are interested in attending, please get in touch so we can add to you the waiting list. We will let you know if there are places remaining for non-Westminster based members.

Q.I am only interested in acting - do I need to take part in singing and dance too?

We pride ourselves in providing a comprehensive grounding in ALL performance skills. This is because many plays include movement, dance and physical theatre, and actors need to have a strong and healthy voice. All professional actors in training at Drama school have to undertake dance and vocal training in order to prepare them for their careers. Even if you don’t want to be a professional actor, we challenge you to push yourself to take a creative risk and learn new skills.

Q.Can I attend both Saturdays and Sundays?

Saturday’s provision is primarily for young people living in the south of the borough. Sundays is for those in the north. Each provision is designed to provide structured sessions appropriate for the each individual group while the members work towards creating a show. This means it is not possible for you to attend more than one provision, as you will not be able to be in more than one show at any given time. You might also get a bit tired!
