WANTED - WELLBEING PRACTITIONER FOR CARERS EXPRESS

DreamArts fuses arts and therapeutic practice to support wellbeing. We’re looking for a Wellbeing Practitioner for our work with young carers who is skilled in supporting marginalised young people. The successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships, be confident in applying approaches that enable meaningful participation, and respond to individual needs and interests.

The role involves supporting our our Carers Express programme, working with Juniors (aged 8–12) and Seniors (aged 13–18). You will help them participate in creative sessions that provide opportunities to explore their challenges, build a sense of belonging with peers  and strengthen their emotional wellbeing.

As an integral member of the Young Carers Team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of a programme that is educative, participative, empowering and fun, giving young people with caring responsibilities opportunities to thrive.

Working with the Carers Express Project Lead, the Wellbeing Practitioner will focus on identifying and removing barriers to participation, identifying appropriate support that responds to emerging needs and creates a sense of community.

Sessions take place monthly on Sunday at The Portman Centre in NW8 plus a monthly evening session on a Tuesday. There are also holiday projects and trips to activities and opportunities young carers might not otherwise access, e.g. theatre trips, museums, meals.

In in last year’s staff satisfaction survey 100% of team members felt inspired at DreamArts to do their best at their job, and 100% said that their voice and skills matter at DreamArts.
