Mobile Arts Programme

The Mobile Arts Programme increases access to quality youth arts for the most vulnerable young people. Successes include an arts residency at the Irish Women's Hostel working mainly with young female refugees; projects with children with a range of special needs; work with youth offenders; and producing State of Independence with young people leaving care, screened at the Institute of Contemporary Art and Tate Britain.

Exceptional. One of the strongest projects that I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. I don't think I've ever visited a project where I haven't seen anything that needs improving!

Excerpt from Tiger Dreams, produced by twelve Arabic-speaking girls aged 8-11 from London Tigers. Using photography, journalism and image capture to explore the themes of identity, culture and representation, they took control and produced a magazine in a project highlighted to the DfES as outstanding work.
